Letter From The Secretary General
It is my utmost pleasure to welcome you all to the first annual session of Izmir Esrefpasa Anatolian High School Model United Nations Conference. My name is İsmail Kutludağ, a senior in the school which will organize the conference and I will be serving as the Secretary General of MUNEPAL’19.
When I first attended to my MUN conference, I easily saw that the procedure knowledge of my chairboard was really amazing. They inspired me and I took part in further more conferences. After I attained awards from some conferences, I felt both the feeling of being a Committee Director and Under Secretary General thanks to my successes. Since my first chairing experience, I have always been dreaming about being a Secretary General of a conference which will be organised by us. The time is now, our dreams are coming true.
We have in total of five committees which are both creative and unique. While we were determining the agenda items for all committees, I and Yağız Efe, who is not only the Director General of MUNEPAL but also the backbone of our conference, showed great attention and affection towards our workings. We are sure that the conference both will be beneficial and fruitful for all delegates who will take part in our conference.
As for our committees, our first committee is the United Nations Economic and Social Council also known as ECOSOC. Our agenda items will be related to money laundering issues around the world. Followed by our second committee, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime which is about illicit drug trafficking and any kinds of abuses. Our third committee is the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women also known as UN WOMEN, in this committee, our delegates will be focusing on the safety of activists around the globe. Let us introduce our fourth committee, Historical United Nations Security Council. The committee will be focusing on the Cold War tension between United States of America and Soviet Union in the middle of 20th century. Last but not least, we are honoured to introduce our last committee, Joint Crisis Cabinet: Angolan Civil War. The committee will be linked to the Historical United Nations Security Council and the delegates will be able to collaborate among themselves in terms of updates and crises.
As the Secretary General of MUNEPAL’19, I am looking forward to seeing you all in July. Lastly, I’m sure that our conference won’t only provide a chance for you all to gain awareness about the world issues but also great friendships and exclusive platform for your discussions.
